Fever is the fourth episode of the TV series Moonlight.
Synopsis[]
A key witness goes missing, so Deputy District Attorney Josh Lindsey hires Mick St. John to find her.
Plot[]
Leni Hayes is the nanny to the young daughter of Amir Fayed, a wealthy arms dealer. She witnesses the murder of her boyfriend by Fayed and is put into protective custody. However, there is a mole in the district office and, in an attempted hit, her two police guards are killed. Leni, however, escapes.
Due to the existence of a mole, Deputy District Attorney Josh Lindsey (Beth’s boyfriend) hires Mick St. John to find Leni. Mick tracks Leni down in the Mohave desert region and realises she is pregnant to the murdered boyfriend. They head back but the mole gives them away and their car is blown up by an armed helicopter. However, unbeknown to the attackers, Mick and Leni managed to get out of the car just before the rocket hits. Mick and Leni escape into the desert. They find an old motel and Mick lies dying from overexposure to the sun in a bath filled with ice.
Beth is upset when she hears from Josh that Mick and Leni are dead. She tells Josh that he still has a problem and someone in his office must be leaking information. Leni, who has been trying to call Beth, finally gets a phone signal and Beth rushes to them. Meanwhile, Josh finds his mole – a colleague and long-time friend of his.
When Beth arrives at the motel, Mick is still in the bath full of ice and water and she can see that he is dying. Beth offers Mick her blood to save him and he refuses. She tells Mick that she knows that he won’t kill her or try to turn her and he gives in.
Later, Fayed’s hitman finds them again but Mick has recovered and overpowers him.
